What this service is

SponsorABallerina.org lets a ballet dancer publish a profile and lets a patron support that dancer financially. It is a platform that connects the two. It is not a charity, a fundraiser, or an agent.

Sponsorship is not a donation

Money given through this site is support for a named individual artist. It is not a charitable donation and it is not tax deductible. We do not issue tax receipts. If you need advice about the tax treatment of a payment, ask an accountant.

Where the money goes

Sponsorship is routed directly to the dancer through Stripe. This platform does not hold, pool, or distribute sponsorship funds. What a dancer does with the support is between the dancer and their patron.

Dancer membership

A dancer profile costs $1 per month. Billing begins when a finished profile is submitted for review. The fee exists to keep the roster genuine and to offset running costs. Cancelling ends publication of the profile; it does not delete the account or anything a patron has already sent.

Review and removal

Profiles are reviewed before they are published. We may decline, suspend, or remove a profile — for example where content is not truthful, not the person’s own, or not appropriate for a public page.

What you promise us

• You are 18 or over.
• The profile is about you, and what it says is true.
• You have the right to publish the photographs you upload.

What we do not promise

We do not promise that a dancer will receive support, or any particular amount of it. We do not vouch for any dancer or any patron.

Changes

These terms will change, not least because the operating entity behind the site is not yet established. We will update this page when they do.
